Just heard Motley Crue's version of Teaser and I think it is awesome how bands like the Crue still dig Tommy Bolin enough to do a Tommy song. Now that is dedication.

As a guitarist I really enjoy Tommy's playing. My late friend Simon, bless his heart, was a huge Ritchie Blackmore fan and and I a Bolin fan (although I greatly admire Ritche, too), and we used to have a great friendly rivalry about who was better in Purple. I always won the argument as Simon always got too overheated and couldn't get his words out! Great memories.

I'll never forget the first time I heard Tommy's stuff. I used to buy albums at a local record store based on a "feeling", and purchased Teaser before it was even on the radio. It immediately became my favorite piece of vinyl, and continues to be so to this day. I can't tell you how many people I turned on to that record. Tommy Bolin will rock forever!

I grew up with Tommy's music living in Sioux City. It will never leave my life, I share it with everyone! Say "hi to Johnnie" (and welcome to the Patio) for me!
